Superior Tube is a leader in the manufacture of precision-engineered tubes used in the manufacturing of High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC). Our HPLC tubing are typically used as the capillary columns through which the liquid sample is passed for separation and analysis.
High-Performance Liquid Chromatography
High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) is used to analyze chemicals in both research and industrial processing. It’s an application that requires precision HPLC tubing, that is resistant to high temperatures, pressures, and corrosion.
The HPLC tubes are used for the manufacturing of the columns in chromatography machines. This application requires exceptional inside diameter conditions and overall tube strength to withstand the pressure involved when pumping liquids or gases through the column to extract samples for chemical analysis.
Alloys
Stainless steel is the most used metal for HPLC tubing due to its inertness, corrosion resistance, and mechanical strength. We also supply a range of
nickel alloy tubes for HPLC equipment.
Sizes
Our HPLC tubes are manufactured from up to 1.5” (38.1mm) in outside diameter down to less than 0.020” (0.508mm) OD.
Surface Finish
Our metallurgists tightly control the inner surface of the metal HPLC tubing to minimize interactions between the sample and the tubing. Smooth and polished surfaces reduce the adsorption of sample components, prevent peak broadening, and maintain separation efficiency.
